General Info

Training During COVID-19:

We will maximize social distancing as much as we can. However, during the current situation, it is not possible to keep social distance during some of the rescue skills that you need to perform both in the water and on land. With this in mind, we are following the following protocols:

Come to the facility swim ready. No Locker room access to minimize high touch areas

Wear your face mask at all times when not in the pool.

Be early, we will check your temperature and give you a questionnaire.

Read and sign the following waivers:

1) COVID-19 Waiver

2) General Release of Liability

Before you can be a lifeguard, you need to be at least 15 years old and show proficiency in the following three protocols.

*Swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl and breaststroke only demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing.

*Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. Candidates will place arms under the armpits

*Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Goggles may not be used.
